Frank Rivera is President/Founder of Sarcoidosis of Long Island since 2012. Frank Rivera was misdiagnosed in 2004 and actually diagnosed in 2011. Since 2012 he has raised awareness among government officials both local and nationally. He has spoken at 2 Congressional Briefings, done multiple speaking engagements and been on local and national news, including NBC Nightly News. He is a national Ambassador for Sarcoidosis and WEGO Health Patient Leader.

Frank Rivera was misdiagnosed and treated for lung cancer –for 8 years!–, before a doctor found out he actually had a rare disease called sarcoidosis. Since then, he’s made it his mission to help as many people suffering from sarcoidosis not have to go through what he did.
Frank is the founder of Sarcoidosis of Long Island, a non-profit organization seeking to raise awareness for sarcoidosis amongst medical professionals and government officials.
